Weeknotes:November 19th
Project and research updates covering my current projects, interesting discoveries, and ongoing experiments in AI research and development.
Longevity AI & Digital Preservation
Recent conversations about AI have sparked interesting thoughts about its potential role in preserving digital culture and personal memories. Rather than replacing human interaction, the focus is on:
- Preserving memories of loved ones
- Creating digital legacies while people are still alive
- Enabling meaningful interactions with historical figures
- Building personal digital archives for future conversations
Project Implementation
Using ElevenLabs' new Conversational AI (Beta), I've created two interactive experiences:
-
Major General Norman B. Edwards Biography
- Built using digitized memoir audio cassettes
- Custom voice cloning from historical recordings
- Interactive bio page hosted on Hugging Face Spaces
Try it here: Norman Edwards Interactive Bio
-
Dr. James Hollis Dialogue Experience
- Based on his published works and lectures
- Explores Jungian psychology and personal development
- Custom voice implementation
Experience it here: James Hollis Demo
Mural Bot Project Progress
I'm collaborating with Joseph Kristofeltti, Tyler Hobbs, and Jon Starr on the Mural Bot project, exploring the intersection of physical computing and interactive art.

AI Insights
Simon Willison wrote a fascinating analysis of ChatGPT's memory features, exploring how the system creates personalized responses using its memory feature (introduced in February, fully implemented in September).
Music & Intention
While digitizing my uncle's jazz collection, I've been contemplating the role of intention in music listening. A friend introduced me to Hailu Mergia's transportive music - check out the Hailu Mergia CD bundle for a great example of music that creates a sense of time and place.
